Level 3 Award in Education & Training (QCF)

This courses satisfies one pre-requisite for those who would like to become First Aid Trainers. It replaces the popular PTLLS Award.

The award is designed to develop the candidates' ability to:

  • Identify students' needs, backgrounds and aspirations
  • Define basic principles of teaching and learning in relation to first aid training
  • Demonstrate planning, delivery and evaluation of training sessions with a regard for equal opportunities and health and safety legislation
  • Develop their skills in devising programmes and schemes of work
  • Adopt a systematic approach to planning learning sessions by reference to a variety of methods, and to develop innovation in first aid training
  • Design, make and use a range of teaching and learning materials, to deliver first aid courses
  • Develop their key skills
  • Apply communication skills in teaching first aid
  • Design and apply appropriate means of assessing first aid courses

Additional home study required to complete assignments.

Course is over 4 days and will include taught evening sessions.

Accreditation - The First Aid Training Co-operative is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organisation. You can reply on our quality assured systems for the appropriate training assessment and accreditation of your course. The Co-op is also a member of the Scottish First Aid Association and operative is insured through the Association of First Aiders, whom we are also members.
