Major Incident Management Training - 1 Day

The 1 day ( approx. 6 hour) Major Incident Management training course has been developed in partnership with a practicing paramedic from Scottish Ambulance’s Services Special Operations Response Team.

Major incident training will describe the kinds of actions staff should be considering now, before in incident happens. It also includes basic first aid training for trauma incidents and our trainers will run a triage scenario in afternoon of the course to skill the staff team in trauma first aid and major incident management. The debriefing of this simulated incident will highlight vital lessons for the safety of your staff in the event of a real incident.

Vitally this package also includes a pre-course site visit, usually the day before your course, to discuss your specific needs for the training and develop or review your emergency plans for the business premises and its operations.

The course givesan overview of how to manage and major incident in a large or high profileorganisation. This training is both theoretical and practical. It takes thecandidates through training in dealing with major incidents and life savingtrauma management.

This is followed by a major multiple casualty incident whichwill test the learning. This scenario is based on real life incidents to highlight key learning points and our experts will debrief actions taken during thescenario.

Our experttrainers will be on site the day before the course begins to speak to membersof the Senior Management Team about the plan for the course. It is stronglyrecommended that at least one member of the SMT attend the training day.

This course istheory based but practical opportunities will be used to demonstrate basicfirst aid and life saving trauma management. The course gives an overview ofhow to manage and major incident in a large or high profile organisation.
