Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) First Aid - 16 Hours

We are approved first aid supplier for Scottish Youth Football Association Clubs. Our 16 Hour, 2 day, Sports First Aid course has been designed to meet the requirements of the SYFA Club Licensing.

Scottish Youth Football Association Club Licensing includes the requirement that clubs have at least 1 person on the touchline who has Sports First Aid training with all teams, where a Chartered Physiotherapist is not present.

Our courses are taught by qualified trainers and is specifically designed as Sports First Aid. The course is scenario based and covers leg injury, head and spinal injury management plus CPR for adults and children.

Core course content:

  • Safe best practice and awareness of current regulations
  • Sports specific practical scenario training
  • A systematic approach to incident management. Primary Survey
  • Vital signs
  • Airway Management - safe airway positions & dealing with gum shields
  • Return to play decisions following on field assessment using SALTAPS
  • Recognition of concussion - use of Maddock's questions
  • Soft tissue injuries, strains and sprains - when to and when not to use ice
  • What to put in your first aid kit
  • How to make an action plan
  • Use of AED with practical session

Our courses meet the HSE standards for 'Due Diligence' for first aid providers.

Accreditation - The First Aid Training Co-operative is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organisation. You can reply on our quality assured systems for the appropriate training assessment and accreditation of your course. The Co-op is also a member of the Scottish First Aid Association and operative is insured through the Association of First Aiders, whom we are also members.
