BLS & CPR for Doctors & Dentists

These short courses are designed to satisfy Resuscitation Council UK’s Quality Standards for Primary Care settings, and give confidence in dealing with sudden collapse through Cardiac Arrest for both infant and adult casualties.  They take participants through the steps required to give a casualty the best chance of survival in this immediately life threatening situation.  

These courses are ideally suited to Doctors surgeries and Dental practices, and will satisfy the requirements of the RCGP, HSE, GDC and Resuscitation Council UK for annual CPD including BLS training for Medical Emergencies.  Additional content regarding the specifics of other first aid content can also be covered on request.

Core Course Content – 1 Hour BLS & CPR:

• Incident management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents - ABC
• Airway Management – treatment of unconscious collapse
• Recovery Position, practice of basic recovery position technique
• Adult CPR & AED (Defibrillator) demonstration and practice 
• Infant CPR demonstration and practice
• Child CPR & AED (Defibrillator) technique discussion and demonstration

Enhanced Course Content:

For courses 2 hours or more, as Core Course Content, plus:

• Alternative Recovery Positions for difficult situations
• Child CPR and AED (Defibrillator) demonstration and practice
• Adult, Child & Infant Choking protocols

For courses 3 hours or more, as above plus additional content as requested by the practice, this may include:

• Anaphylaxis recognition and treatment
• Heart Attack recognition and treatment
• Asthma Attack recognition and treatment
• Managing Seizures
• Scenario based practical sessions
