Case Study – Midlothian Council

The guidelines for first aid training requirements for staff in Early Years settings in Scotland are particularly vague, and are not at all aligned with those in the rest of the UK. Midlothian Council however have taken the initiative and gone above and beyond what is required by law in Scotland.

First Aid Training Co-operative won the contract to deliver these courses over a 3 year period and we have established a very positive working relationship with the council. These contracts work best with proactive planning from the client and Midlothian Council do exactly that – this allows us to work together with them and schedule the training many months in advance. Council staff can therefore see the calendar of training dates coming up, and ensure that they can attend the course that best suits them.

This is a contract that we are delighted to deliver and is very satisfying knowing that we are helping to ensure that young people in Midlothian Council area safer whilst enjoying their time at all kinds of nurseries, schools, and other early years settings.
