Mental Health First Responder 2 Days

Description

Mental Health First Response is an initial response to distress and all participants on the course understand that this help is given only until other suitable or professional help can be found.  This Mental Health First Aid course trains the candidate to be a Mental Health First Responder in the workplace and to deal with immediate mental health issues. Participants will develop skills in asking appropriate questions, listening without judgement. They will also learn how to write a mental health action plan, a self-care plan and giving guidance about where to signpost those with mental health problems.

Candidates will become more informed about how to respond to a mental health crisis and what the most common mental health problems are.  The course does not train people to be mental health workers. It offers basic general information about mental health problems.

Trainers are qualified trainers and have a background working in mental health or have a lived experience with mental health issues.  They undergo a rigorous quality assurance process annually.

The first part of the course is our online module, done at your own pace. This is 7 hours of learning and includes questioning which forms part of the course assessment.  This module must be completed before the second part of the course which is 7 hours (1 day) of practical, face-to-face, scenario based training.

Our 2 Day Mental Health First Responder course is priced at the same rate as our 2 day physical first aid courses.
