Everyone at First Aid Training Co-operative is delighted to announce that our Director, Cory Jones FRGS, has been elected to the Royal Geographical Society’s Expeditions and Fieldwork Committee.

The committee plays a key role in helping shape the Society’s work on scientific expeditions, field research and outdoor learning, providing guidance on strategy, policy and safety standards.

Cory brings more than 30 years of experience in outdoor leadership, environmental education and expedition management. He has led expeditions and guided wildlife trips across the globe, including Antarctica, the Arctic, Africa and remote wilderness areas. His experience includes major canoe expeditions, sea-kayak journeys, field research projects and international expedition leadership.

At First Aid Training Co-operative, Cory specialises in wilderness first aid, expedition safety and mental health first aid training. His election reflects the growing recognition of the importance of risk management, safety planning and participant wellbeing within the expedition and outdoor learning sectors.

The appointment also strengthens First Aid Training Co-operative’s links with the wider expedition, fieldwork and outdoor education communities. Through the committee, Cory will contribute to discussions around best practice, safety standards and the future of field-based learning and exploration.

As an organisation, we are proud that our expertise in wilderness medicine, remote-area risk management and outdoor learning is being represented at a national level within one of the world’s most respected geographical organisations.

Congratulations, Cory, on this well-deserved achievement.
