Thank you to each of our students who took the time to complete their post course review & evaluation form. We are always happy to look through these and respond to any comments made.
Each month we post these (good and bad) in a blog, so you can get a sense of how we are performing in realtime. The comments and first aid course reviews we’ve received during May 2019 are below, along with some responses from us.
What Did You Like About Your Course?
A trainer who understood our situation
The content and the way it was thought was way better than previous courses by others
Trainer excellent. Food great
Excellent leadership by the training provider. Very focussed in ensuring solid learning outcomes.
Relaxed and interesting with the right level of interaction and learning for all!
I liked the fact that it was so active and hands on rather than just sitting down and taking notes. I definitely learn more from doing the activities, so found the scenarios very helpful.
Enjoyed the mix of theory and practical scenarios
Easy of learning.
Minimal theory work, more hands on practical, just how it should be.
I found it very beneficial how hands on the course was – it really helped demonstrate how to do the techniques we were taught.
It was very relaxed and a fantastic course.
Lots of opportunities to practice the techniques to help memory and ease of recall and increase in participant confidence.
Gave me confidence that I could act appropriately if confronted with the situations covered
I found the course very informative friendly, and easy to follow.
Most interesting, productive and enjoyable Session so far. We don’t realise how important it is to have this skills. I am very thankful to the trainers they made it easy and enjoyable to learn.
The practical part though not as easy as theory
Everything was explained clearly and was possible to practice.
Easy to understand
What Did You Think We Could Improve About Your Course?
More refreshments made available.
On Private courses we leave the refreshments up to the client, sorry you didn’t feel that there were enough on this occasion
We did not have the opportunity to practice CPR techniques on the child and baby practice models and this was surprising as the course was emergency paediatric first aid.
This is unfortunate and something that was unavoidable due to the time constraints of a short 3 hour Paediatric First Aid Awareness course. We’d recommend the full 1 Day or 2 Day Paediatric First Aid course if you feel that more time to practice would be valuable (which we’d have to agree with you on).
Perhaps using a venue in the countryside would be more appropriate for this type of course
We agree with you here, but unfortunately most of our students come from the main population centres, so running courses as close to the majority of people as possible makes sense both practically and environmentally.
No need, Ann does her job very well
Great to hear!
More time required.
This is a common response that we receive and more time would indeed be great to have and enable more practice and more time to allow skills to develop. Unfortunately however the majority of people want a first aid course to be as short as possible, and longer courses simply aren’t very popular. We do offer an Advanced Outdoor First Aid course, and a First Aid at Work course, both of which are 3 days long and are a great choice if you would like more time and more indepth understanding of the issues.
Less time taken on course
Ref the response above, commonly people want courses to be as short as possible. However, the contact hours for each individual qualification are externally stipulated and so can’t be changed by ourselves.
Provide the course as often as possible
Great to hear! We do try!
