SFA and SYFA First Aid Training for Football Coaches in Inverness and Highlands
SFA and SYFA First Aid Training for Football Coaches in Inverness and Highlands. You may be involved with football at a grass roots level support a small club as a coach or volunteer in the Highlands. There are many small leagues in Caithness, Sutherland, Wester Ross, Skye, Black Isle, Inverness and on the along the Moray coast.
In the Highlands teams are often small and a few volunteers really make a difference to the club system. However every club does need a first aider pitchside at training or at a match, whichever age group is playing. Remember these first aiders need to renew their qualification every three years.
For small clubs they cant afford to host a course at their own training ground (even if they have one). The First Aid Training Co-operative has come to their rescue. We are running a series of SFA / SYFA approved first aid courses in Dingwall (at the Staggies ground) over the next six months.

Our courses are very well received and respected.
- We will teach you how to make ‘Return to Play’ decisions. Whether in training or in play, how do you know when a player should be taken off the pitch due to an injury, or be allowed to continue with activity?
- Find out the latest information about the use of icing, sprays and that ‘magic sponge’ for dealing with soft tissue injuries (strains and sprains).
- Concussions and head injuries. Our trainers will take you through the latest information on head injury/concussion protocols and how to use them.
- We have developed a series of football-specific practical scenarios that our trainers will use during your training.
If you have a small club from Wick to Buckie, Fort William to Huntely then we can supply your approved SYA/SYFA first aid training.
